Clare Curran wins Dunedin South selection
It’s great to hear Clare Curran has won the Labour Party selection in Dunedin South. We need more women like her in politics.

Welcome to the blogging world! It’s always good to hear more left-voices, particularly women as well who are grossly under represented in our male-dominated (and sometimes misogynistic) blogosphere. I’ve added you to my linklist too.
I am still undecided on Curran - frankly I am mystified by the entire selection process as well. Clearly the union bloc lost because it was split by the PSA and EPMU both fielding separate candidates, though I still think it is bizarre that Labour is willing to bring in Curran despite her existing controversy - which is definitely going to prove a liability during the election campaign. Her comments in the Herald seem to be a bit of a mistake as well..
Nevertheless, her paper on language was very interesting and clearly she’s from the Labour Left, which is good to see expanding.
